    Several Injured in New Hampshire Fireworks Accident

    (PELHAM, N.H.) — Police say nine people were hurt when a neighborhood fireworks display exploded prematurely on a backyard deck in Pelham, N.H., Tuesday. Witnesses described hearing what sounded like gunshots coming from the home and at least one resident reported seeing a “huge mushroom cloud” of smoke. Three of the victims were children. Two of the kids suffered serious burns and were flown to Boston-area hospitals for treatment. The other victims were transported by ambulance to local hospitals.     (BOWLING GREEN, Ky.) — Authorities say 19 children, ranging in age from eight months to 14 years, were left alone with nine dogs, little food and no air-conditioning for almost a week in a sweltering three-bedroom home in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Jackie Farah, who officials say is the mother of some of the children rescued from the home, has been jailed on 14 counts of criminal abuse in the first degree and five counts of wanton endangerment in the first degree.     (AMARILLO, Texas) — A judge in Texas has found the JetBlue pilot who had a midflight meltdown in March not guilty of interfering with a flight crew – saying Tuesday that captain Clayton Osbon suffered from a severe mental disease and didn’t understand that his meltdown was wrong.     (HARRIS COUNTY, Texas) — A jailed Houston man said he and his wife were going through financial difficulties when he helped her commit suicide, according to authorities. Mark Kelly, 47, called the police Saturday morning after he found his wife Sonia Marie Dixon dead in their apartment. He was later arrested on a state felony charge of aiding a suicide.     (SAN DIEGO) — It was a scene out of the movie Jaws Monday  as beach-goers spotted a 14-foot great white shark about 50 yards off the San Diego coast, prompting the  popular swimming beach  to close.
