Home / Music News / Even though she’s expecting her second baby, Carrie Underwood is “super excited” to juggle pregnancy and hosting the CMA…

A little more than ten days ago, we found out that Carrie Underwood will return for the 11th time to host the CMA Awards. Then just five days later, the American Idol winner revealed she’s expecting her second baby.

But the “Cry Pretty” hitmaker admits she’s happy to juggle the responsibilities of being one of the leading female vocalists in country music and the challenges of motherhood a second time.

“We were super excited to get the phone call to ask Brad [Paisley] and me to come back for an 11th year of the CMAs of hosting,” she says. “We just always have a lot of fun. It’s definitely a lot of pressure and it’s a lot of work working on the CMAs.”

After more than a decade leading country music’s most prestigious night, Carrie says everyone on the show has become a family.

“At the end of the day, I love the team that we work with,” she explains. “We have a lot of fun, and we kinda get to be the ones that represent country music and we take our jobs very seriously, but we love what we do.”

Carrie’s new album — her first for Capitol Nashville, also titled Cry Pretty — comes out September 14. The 52nd Annual CMA Awards will follow a couple months later, on November 14. You can tune in to watch at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Luke BryanSugarland and Dan + Shay will announce this year’s nominees on Good Morning America on Tuesday, August 28. You can tune in to find out who’s in the running starting at 7 a.m. ET on ABC.
