At a press conference in Nashville, TN late this morning, it was announced that country music superstar Garth Brooks would headline the first-ever concert at the University of Notre Dame’s stadium in Indiana.

The stadium seats more than 80 thousand people.

Appropriately, Brooks was joined for the announcement by legendary former Notre Dame head football coach Lou Holtz.

Brooks, the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, said of the venue, which dates back to 1930: “Notre Dame stadium has seen so many iconic moments!” adding, “I look forward to bringing a new kind of crazy to the party.”

Mike Seamon, Vice President for Campus Safety and Event Management at Notre Dame, commented, “Tradition and memories are built in that stadium. This is an important moment and once we decided we were going to have a concert, Garth just jumped into our minds right away.”

As of yet, no date has been set for the show.
