More than fifty animal shelters across the country got a surprise donation of between three and five thousand dollars, thanks to Miranda Lambert and her MuttNation Foundation.

In all, Miranda’s nonprofit passed out $189,000, after carefully checking out each organization.

“I am amazed and humbled by the great work these shelters do,” the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year says, “and so honored to be able to support their critical efforts on behalf of rescue animals.”

The latest grants are a part of the Mutts Across America program, which was started by Miranda’s mom, Bev. Since its inception, the program’s been able to give over $775,000 to more than 200 shelters.
