Trace Adkins has released a powerful video that pays homage to those who fight tirelessly for our freedom. The four-minute video for “Still a Soldier,” which premiered on CMT, follows a typical day in the life of Army Specialist Bryan Gerwitz.

“We recorded this song well over a year ago, and my intent was always to release it as a tip of my hat to those who have served,” Trace says in a statement.

Trace has long been an advocate for our troops. He’s currently a spokesperson for the Wounded Warrior Project, has done 12 overseas USO trips and is a regular participant in fundraising events for active and inactive members of the military. He ends his video with a message to those who serve our country.

“To SPC. Bryan Gerwitz and all those who have crawled from the battlefield but still stand for the Anthem…This is for you,” he writes.
