Home / National News / TransCanada says 210,000 gallons of oil leaked from Keystone Pipeline in South Dakota


(AMHERST, S.D.) — Crews have shut down the Keystone Pipeline on Thursday after a reported leak of more than 200,000 gallons of oil.

According to a press release from TransCanada, which operates the controversial pipeline, the section of pipeline was “completely isolated within 15 minutes and emergency response procedures were activated.”

“The safety of the public and environment are out top priorities and we will continue to provide updates as they become available,” TransCanada added.
