Home / Local Sanford, NC News / Seventy percent of Lee County’s registered voters went to the polls


Sanford–Lee County has 35,476 registered voters,and of that number, 25,016 votes were cast for a 70.54 percent turnout. Perspective voters were still coming to the Election Board to vote, only to be directed to their precinct. Several said they didn’t know where their precinct was. The issue of the lack of bathroom privileges at the schools used for voting was also raised by some voters.
