(NEW YORK) — A Montana man shared the aftermath of his harrowing encounter with a grizzly bear in a viral Facebook video this weekend, saying that the same bear attacked him two times while he was out for a morning hike.

Todd Orr said the bear attacked him while he was hiking and scouting for elk this past Saturday in Montana’s Madison Valley.

The video Orr shot of himself shortly after the attack has already garnered more than 22 million views on Facebook. In the video, Orr has a bloodied face and huge gashes along his arm.

“Yeah, life sucks in bear country,” Orr says in the video. “Just had a grizzly with two cubs come at me from about 80 yards.”

In an accompanying Facebook post, Orr said that he was speaking loudly as he hiked to “not surprise any bears along the trail.”

According to Orr, a bear and her cubs spontaneously charged toward him.

“I gave her a full charge of bear spray at about 25 feet. Her momentum carried her right through the orange mist and on me,” Orr wrote. “She was on top of me biting my arms, shoulders and backpack. The force of each bite was like a sledge hammer with teeth. She would stop for a few seconds and then bite again. Over and over. After a couple minutes, but what seemed an eternity, she disappeared.”

Around five or ten minutes later, Orr said he encountered the bear again.

“She either followed me back down the trail or cut through the trees and randomly came out on the trail right behind me. Whatever the case, she was instantly on me again,” Orr wrote.

Orr said the bear eventually left him alone for good, but he was a bloodied mess. He walked back toward his truck and ran into a rancher along the way and asked him to call the hospital.

Orr had broken a bone in his left arm. “Following was eight hours of stitching to put me back together,” according to Orr. “Most were arm and shoulder punctures and tears.”

“Not my best day, but I’m alive,” he continued in the post. “So thankful I’m here to share with all of you.”

Orr did not immediately respond to ABC News request for comment.
