(LOS ANGELES) — A raging wildfire east of Los Angeles has grown to 30,000 acres, a San Bernardino County fire spokesperson said. Firefighters have been unable to stop it from spreading to nearby communities.

The Blue Cut Fire — named after the Blue Cut hiking trail where it began Tuesday morning — has forced more than 82,000 people to evacuate their homes.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

California Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency in San Bernardino County.
