(ST. JOSEPH, Mich.) — Three people are dead — including two bailiffs — in a shooting at a courthouse in Berrien County, Michigan, Monday afternoon, officials said.
The suspect also died, Berrien County Sheriff Paul Bailey said.
Several other people were injured, including a deputy sheriff and civilians, Bailey said. The deputy was in stable condition, but the condition of the others was not clear.
“We ask people to pray for the families of the deceased,” Bailey told reporters.
Bailey said that the people inside the courthouse “went for shelter once the shooting occurred.”
“And other brave officers were able to come to the rescue and take the shooter down,” Bailey added.
Please join me in praying for those affected. We will share more information here from MSP as it becomes available.
