According to Roller, police were already in the parking lot patrolling the event when they heard the gunshots. Officers returned fire and shot the suspect, he said.
The two shooting victims were transported to Aspirus Langlade Hospital where one has been discharged, according to a spokesperson at the hospital.
Roller said the suspect was taken into custody and then transported to the hospital. He added all the people within the prom were eventually escorted from the school.
It was unclear if the suspect is a student.
