(MIAMI) — Three tornadoes wreaked havoc across South Florida on Monday and into Tuesday, capsizing boats and uprooting trees.

The National Weather Service confirmed one tornado touched down in the cities of Century and McDavid on Monday afternoon, with wind speeds reaching up to 111 miles per hour. Two more tornadoes were confirmed near Pompano Beach and Miami this morning.

A tornado watch was issued for parts of South Central Florida earlier Tuesday, while severe thunderstorm warnings in coastal cities from Hallandale Beach to Miami eventually became tornado warnings by 8 a.m.

Incredible images posted to social media show just how dangerous the weather was.

A video taken in Cooper City and posted to Instagram at around 8 a.m. shows trees and a street sign swaying as the harsh winds and rain whip them back and forth.

A similar video taken in Fort Lauderdale showed the severe weather still affecting the area around noon.

After the terrifying weather conditions subsided, residents began to assess the damage caused by the storm.

A video posted to Instagram showed two boats that had capsized at a marina in Fort Lauderdale.

A large tree was uprooted in a residential neighborhood in North Miami Beach. Resident Enrique Brener posted the photo to Twitter with the caption, “Woke up to a tornado this morning.”

At the Sand & Spurs equestrian park in Pompano Beach, a 9-year-old girl comforted her horse after an uprooted tree fell onto his stable, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

Property damage was also abundant as a result from the tornadoes. A home in Century was destroyed in the storm.

More than 20 tornadoes were reported in the past 24 hours from Louisiana to Florida, according to the NWS.
