(MADISON, Conn.) — A bus was evacuated Monday after it rolled over on a snow-covered stretch of Interstate-95 near Madison, Connecticut, officials said.

The charter bus was en route from New York City to the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut.

Some passengers were sent to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment. The number of passengers on the bus is currently unknown.

A Yale New Haven Hospital spokesperson said it received eight patients from the crash, including one person with extensive injuries and broken bones. Other patients are being evaluated.

Middlesex Shoreline Medical Center took in 16 people from the crash in unknown conditions. The center is currently evaluating the patients.
