(FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio) — An Ohio man was recently arrested after he posted video of himself drinking and texting behind the wheel, in what might go down as the most idiotic uses of social media to date.
According to ABC affiliate KTRK-TV, even Dustin Rittgers friends flamed his decisions. “Dude, Really!!!!!!” one follower posted.
“I am a good driver, don’t worry,” Rittgers responded, adding, “I’ve got one finger on the steering wheel Facebooking while it’s raining. Smh [shaking my head], i am good. I am a pro.”
Responding to the video, Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott says, “You’ve got a distracted driver and a drunk driver just exponentially causing danger wherever he went.”
“He’s got his hands full when he’s trying to drive. He’s drinking and he’s paying attention to his phone. I mean we are I think very fortunate this didn’t end with some type of tragedy.”
A tipster led cops to Rittgers’ car, ending his drive with charges including driving while intoxicated.
Scott say of the incriminating Facebooking, “He posted. He confessed. He gave us the evidence.”
The suspect faced two drunk driving-relating charges in 2007 and 2011.
