(LOS ANGELES) — Los Angeles police say at least three victims were injured in a hostage situation that followed a police chase on Friday.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were involved in a car chase with multiple suspects. In the course of the chase, one suspect jumped from the car and carjacked a second vehicle. The two vehicles then drove in different directions.

Police chased one suspect to a home in Long Beach, where he barricaded himself in. The suspect attacked three people inside, stabbing one in the face and shooting two others. Police officers later entered the home and took the suspect into custody.

All three victims at the home and the suspect were transported to receive medical treatment. The conditions of those injured were not immediately clear.

The second vehicle from the chase was later located, police say, but the suspect got away.
