(WAKEFIELD, N.H.) — A motorist has died after his car collided Tuesday evening with another vehicle carrying four Secret Service agents in Wakefield, New Hampshire, according to the Wakefield Police Department.
Officers found a Ford Taurus that had been traveling southbound on Route 16, carrying the on-duty agents. All four were transferred to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for treatment, Wakefield Police Chief Kenneth Fifield said in a statement. Their names have not been released.
“At this time, our personnel have sustained what is described as serious, but non-life-threatening injuries,” Secret Service officials said in a statement Wednesday. “Please join us as we keep all the victims of this accident and their families in our thoughts and prayers.”
Police investigators found the other car, a Mercury Sable with three people inside, which had been traveling northbound. It had crossed over a double-yellow solid line and collided head-on into the Taurus, police said.
The driver of the Sable, Bruce Danforth, 45, died at the scene, police said. His two passengers — Kristina Buswell, 21 and Natasha Meroski, 35 — were taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
A joint investigation with the Wakefield Police Department and New Hampshire State Police is ongoing.
