(JONESBORO, Ark.) —  An armed man was taken into custody at Arkansas State University Thursday afternoon after driving a pickup truck onto the center of campus, officials said.

No one was injured in the incident and no shots were fired, according to the Arkansas State University website. The man was taken into custody at about 2:45, just about one hour after the first report of an armed man on campus.

Law enforcement remained on the scene, and final exams scheduled for the afternoon and evening were pushed to December 2016. The campus was to remain closed for the remainder of the day.

The incident began when a suspect “drove a pickup truck into center of campus” and the University police department issued a campus-wide text alert urging everyone to lock their doors and shelter in place.
