Miranda Lambert is opening up to Cosmopolitan about her divorce from Blake Shelton, in an exclusive interview that includes a revealing photo shoot in which the six-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year shows more cleavage than we’ve typically seen from her before.
In a cover story titled “Buh-Bye, 2015! ‘I’m Excited for the Awesome Times Ahead,’” Miranda speaks more freely about her split from The Voice star than she has in the past.
“We were together for 10 years, married for four, were very quickly divorced, and are friends,” she clarifies. “I’m still processing everything and figuring out where to go and what happened.”
Miranda admits that parts of the post-divorce process can be very painful, but she’s committed to experiencing everything that ultimately helps her heal.
“I don’t necessarily want to know that I have really bad, long, lonely nights ahead of me, but I have had some, and I still have a bunch ahead of me,” she predicts. “But it’s about living in the moment and feeling every tinge of pain, then waking up the next day and going, ‘All right, I’m going to ride my ponies. I’m going to have a girls’ night.’ That’s where I am. That’s where I’m gonna live.”
While Blake had tied the knot before, this was Miranda’s first walk down the aisle. She even goes so far as to talk to the magazine about what she’s learned — should she ever decide to wed again.
“If I ever were to get married again — which is completely not on my radar at all right now — I feel like it’s not about it being a step in life. It’s not about a piece of paper or a diamond. It’s the way you feel about somebody and the commitment in your heart,” she asserts.
