(LINDEN, Mich.) — Three teenagers in Michigan have been charged for a possible school shooting plot.
According to authorities, an 18-year-old and two 15-year-olds used Instagram to plan shootings at a high school and middle school in Linden.
ABC News affiliate WXYZ-TV reports authorites found out about the alleged plot on Oct. 28 when police in Argentine Township intercepted information regarding shootings at the two schools.
A statement from Linden Interim Superintendent Russ Ciesielski said the administration worked quickly with law enforcement as soon as they found out about the potential plot.
“Based on the information we were given, and communication with law enforcement, it was determined that the situation did not call for a ‘secure-mode’ or ‘lock down,'” said the statement. “The investigative process is in the hands of law enforcement; we will continue to correspond and cooperate with law enforcement as new information is discovered.”
All three teens will be charged as adults, according to WXYZ-TV.
