(WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.) — One student is dead and another injured after a shooting near dorms at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina.

According to ABC News affiliate WTVD-TV, the shooting happened early Sunday morning in a dormitory parking lot near a major road that runs through campus.

WTVD-TV reports that sophomore Anthony White Jr., 19, was killed, and an injured student has not been named by authorities, but has been released from the hospital.

A suspect has been identified as Jarrett Jerome Moore, according to WSSU Campus Police Department and WTVD-TV, but there is no indication yet as to whether or not he is a student.

The university has asked the public for help to locate Moore.

Early Sunday, the campus tweeted that anyone unaffiliated with the school should remain off campus.
