(HOUSTON) — Tornadoes in the Houston-area have left communities with a Halloween nightmare.
Early Saturday morning, several tornadoes caused damage around towns in the Houston-area, including eastern Harris County where at least 30 homes were hit.
Another twister made its way through Alvin, about 30 miles south of Houston, damaging nearly 25 mobile homes.
No serious injuries were reported from the tornadoes as of Saturday afternoon.
Melonie Hargrove, from La Porte, said her home was hit by heavy winds.
“The house started shakin’ and all I could think of was: grab the babies! grab the babies! I was screamin…” she said.
Areas in central Texas also suffered from severe flooding, with reports of about a foot of rain overnight. On Saturday afternoon, the City of Houston sent out a release saying officials were investigating two “potential weather-related fatalities.”
