(HOUSTON) — A car plowed into a Houston supermarket on Monday, killing one person and injuring seven others.
A 74-year-old woman was driving an SUV in reverse when it plowed through the HEB grocery store, causing significant damage according to the business’ owners.
Houston police detained the woman for questioning. They said she did not exhibit any signs of intoxication or impairment, and currently there were no charges in the case pending further investigation.
Fred Davis, who was in the checkout lane when the crash happened, said the collision made a “big boom” and “it was scary and frightening cause you would think it was a bomb [that] went off at first.”
