(TEMPE, Ariz.) — A 2-year-old remains in critical condition after a family of five drives into a lake.

Just after midnight on Sunday, a family’s SUV flipped into Tempe Town Lake in Tempe, Arizona.

Fishermen on the lake had seen the car driving on the sidewalk of the Scottsdale Road bridge before it drove into the lake, according to Tempe Police Lieutenant Mike Pooley.

Pooley said divers pulled four people from the vehicle including a 6-month-old girl, a 3-year-old boy who was still strapped into his car seat, and the mother and father, 25 and 27 years old respectively.

A 2-year-old was also pulled from the submerged vehicle and remains in critical condition.
