(CHARLESTON, S.C.) — A tornado touched down on Johns Island in South Carolina on Thursday night, causing significant property damage.

Initial information from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office indicated that there were no injuries reported in the wake of the twister. Still, there have been reports of “significant” residential damage — including downed trees and blocked roads, according to the CCSO’s Twitter page.

The Charleston Police Department reported one injury, though no word on the severity or the individual’s condition was given immediately.

The National Weather Service station in Charleston confirmed the tornado, and reported additional damage in the area of West Ashley. Crews are expected to be sent out Friday to assess the damage.
