(NEW YORK) — Pope Francis arrived at the Our Lady Queen of Angels School in East Harlem Friday afternoon, where he is expected to meet with children and immigrants.
About 250 students were there to greet him outside, holding cameras and chanting, “Holy father we love you.”
A smiling Francis touched several children on the head, and took a few selfies.
“It’s the pope!” one girl exclaimed.
The pope wanted to meet with immigrants and refugees served by Catholic charities in New York. There were about 150 refugees at the school to see the pope, from every continent except Antarctica.
