Thomas Rhett has released the video for his new single, “Die a Happy Man.” The romantic track is inspired by his wife, Lauren, who’s been asking him for years to write her a sweet song like Tim McGraw‘s hit, “Just to See You Smile.”

Thomas says, “Obviously this isn’t exactly like that, but it’s my interpretation. It’s one-hundred percent autobiographical of our relationship in a three-and-a-half minute ballad. It’s probably my favorite song I’ve ever written.”

Thomas and Lauren filmed the video for “Die a Happy Man” while on vacation in Hawaii this past summer.  He adds, “It will be amazing to show our grandkids the video one day.”

Look for Thomas’s new video on People.com. It’s the second single from his sophomore album, Tangled Up, due out September 25.
