(SEATTLE) — A number of active wildfires in Washington State continue to char the state and put homes at risk.
The largest blaze, the Chelan Complex Fire is currently burning more than 56,000 acres and according to the National Wildfire Coordinating Group’s Incident Information System, is actively growing in multiple directions. Firefighters on the ground, as well as a half dozen helicopters and two fixed-wing aircraft are working to help battle the flames.
Several other fires are also still burning in the region, charring a total of more than 150 square miles. Since last week, at least 75 homes are believed to have been destroyed.
