(CHICAGO) — One military parachute jumper has died after colliding with another military parachute jumper midair at the Chicago Air and Water Show.

A spokesman for U.S. Army Parachute Team tells ABC News that Sgt. 1st Class Corey Hood, 32 of Cincinnati, Ohio has died from his injuries after the accident at the Chicago Air and Water show Saturday.

The jumper was a member of the Army parachute team, nicknamed the Golden Knights.

The other jumper is a Navy sailor whose team is nicknamed the Leap Frogs.

The Navy sailor crashed onto the beach while Hood landed in the 1400 block of North Lake Shore Drive and Schiller Street during the show Saturday afternoon, police said, according to ABC station WLS-TV in Chicago.

The Navy sailor suffered a lower leg fracture and was in stable condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Gargan said.
