(PHILADELPHIA) — An American Airlines flight with reports of visible engine fire was forced to make an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport on Friday en route to Seattle.
The plane, an Airbus A320 that had departed Philadelphia shortly beforehand, returned to the city of brotherly love due to an engine problem, the Federal Aviation Administration said. The flight had been scheduled to land at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The Philadelphia Police Department said that there were 140 passengers on board and 911 callers reported seeing an engine fire, ABC affiliate WPVI says.
No one was reported injured in the incident. The FAA is planning to investigate.
