(LAKE MARY, Fla.) — The man accused of shooting at George Zimmerman earlier this week surrendered himself to police on Friday evening.
The Lake Mary Police Department said in a press release that Matthew Apperson, the man accused of firing a gun at George Zimmerman during a traffic dispute earlier this week, turned himself in and was taken to John E. Polk Correctional Facility. Apperson faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and firing a deadly missile into an occupied conveyance.
Police conducted multiple interviews throughout the week and determined that apperson “did intentionally fire his weapon into the vehicle occupied by George Zimmerman without provocation.”
