(BOSTON) — The jury in the case of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has reached a decision in the penalty phase.
The jury had been deliberating since Wednesday, when U.S. District Judge George O’Toole gave them instructions. The jury was set to decide whether Tsarnaev would receive the death penalty or life in a Supermax prison without the possibility of parole.
Tsarnaev was convicted of 30 counts related to the deadly 2013 bombing, 17 of which carried the potential for the death penalty.
