(MENASHA, Wis.) — Four people, including a gunman, were killed in a shooting Sunday evening on a pedestrian bridge in Menasha, Wisconsin, about 40 miles south of Green Bay.

One other person was wounded and remains in critical condition, according to local police who said the incident was a random act and that the public was not in danger.

Police first received a report about a shooting at the Fox Cities Trestle Trail bridge around 7:30 p.m. local time. Witnesses said they heard between ten and 12 shots and saw people trying to escape the shooting by either running off or lying down on the bridge, which will stay closed until further notice.

More details about the shooting and the identities of the victims and gunman will be announced at a news conference later Monday.
