(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) — Four people have been arrested after a student was shot Sunday morning on the Johnson C. Smith University campus in North Carolina, school officials said.
Around 2:15 a.m, a student sitting in a car on campus was hit by gunfire, according to a statement from JCSU, a private liberal arts school in Charlotte.
The student was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, the school said. The student had not been targeted, the school added.
Police said the suspects fled the scene in a car, and after a short pursuit, they crashed, ABC affiliate WSOC-TV reported. Four people — all non-students — were arrested, according to WSOC.
Police said three guns and marijuana were seized from the suspects’ car, WSOC reported.
