(LOS ANGELES) — Twenty-one were injured on Saturday after a train slammed into a car at a grade crossing in Los Angeles.
One of the Metro train cars derailed as a result of the collision, according to Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman Shawn Lenske.
“We found one vehicle versus three train cars, with one of those three train cars derailed,” he told ABC News.
Lenske said several people were injured on the train.
“We have 21 patients, 19 of those were minor, one was serious,” he said. ”These are from the train, and one critical from the vehicle that was extricated the civilian vehicle”
The cause of the crash remains unknown.
