(LOS ANGELES) — Over a dozen high school students have been accused of sexual assault in Los Angeles.  

Police said in a news conference on Friday that the sexual assaults happened both on and off the campus of Venice High Schools between December 2013 and this month.  

The suspects range in age from 14 to 17 years old. police said.

“Los Angeles Police detectives in conjunction with LA School Police went to Venice High School and made a series of arrests,” said LAPD Commander Andrew Smith at Friday’s news conference.

“Some of these were forced sexual acts, sexual assaults. Some of them were consensual with individuals who are too young to give consent,” Smith said.

Smith added that there are two known victims, who are students at the high school and under 18 years old.
