(NEW YORK) — Two New York City police officers were shot and wounded Monday, ABC News has learned, but their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
One of the officers was shot in the back, while the other was shot in the arm, ABC station WABC reports.
Authorities searched for the shooter following the incident.
The shooting happened in the Fordham section of the city’s Bronx borough, at East 184th Street and Tiebout Avenue. It appears that the officers were responding to a call when the shooting occurred.
Both of the officers were hospitalized following the shooting.
