(DOUGLASVILLE, Ga.) — A Georgia family was found dead in their home Tuesday from apparent gunshot wounds.
Among the dead was a Paulding County sheriff deputy, Sandy Driskell.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation will conduct the investigation into what officials are calling a murder-suicide.
Sheriff Gary Gulledge says, “Preliminary investigation shows he was in the bed asleep and suffered one gunshot wound to the head. There’s also three others in the house with gunshots, all family. It appears probably the stepson shot him in his sleep and then shot the other ones.”
Gulledge says the late Driskell is irreplaceable.
“Somebody asked me a while ago, how we going to replace him. He can’t be replaced.”
