(PORTLAND, Ore.) — Police are investigating a shooting near an Oregon school that has injured at least four people, authorities said.
The shooting took place at Rosemary Anderson High School in Portland, Ore.
All four victims were alive and conscious, Portland police said on Friday afternoon, though their medical conditions were unknown.
Police said all four victims are “affiliated with the school as either students or kids, young folks who have been there for various reasons,” possibly including job training.
The suspect, described as an African-American man in his late-teens or early 20s. The suspect was accompanied by two other African-American men in the same age range. All three are believed to have fled the scene.
According to the school’s website, 190 students are enrolled at the north Portland location. The school also has a second location in Gresham. The school serves at-risk students who were expelled or dropped out, many of whom are homeless.
A nearby high school and community college were put on lockdown.
