(SANTA ANA, Calif.) — Police in Southern California are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed three teenage girls while they were trick-or-treating Friday night.
Santa Ana police say the victims, all 13-year-olds, were hit while in a crosswalk.
Two were killed instantly and the third died as paramedics prepared to take her to a hospital.
Wiytness Addie Ayala said, “Oh it was awful, awful, awful. Two girls were killed by impact. And one girl they worked on for a couple of minutes and she was – no response. They were crossing the street texting and they ran them over and just kept on going.”
“They were going like fifty miles an hour and drove into a nearby Big Lots, dropped off the car, and took off running,” Ayala added.
