Tim McGraw has gone on record saying he’d be happy with any song from his latest album, Sundown Heaven Town, being released to country radio. He’s following up the album’s first hit, “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s,” with the new single, “Shotgun Rider,” but Tim would prefer there be no singles from this album at all.

He explains, “If I had my way it’d be one of those albums that you could turn in and just say, there’s not a single. Every station could play whatever song they want. I wish there was a way to do that, but I know you have to have a focus and you have to pick a song.”

As he’s done in the past, Tim has gone a little left of center when choosing songs to round out the Sundown Heaven Town track listing.

Says Tim, “I always know that there are songs that are a little more artistic or other songs that are more not really radio, but just more for reflection and for listening and for just sort of creating a part of the body of an album.”

Look for Tim to perform a song from Sundown Heaven Town on the 48th Annual CMA Awards Wednesday, November 5 on ABC.
