(WASHINGTON) — Shortly after President Obama took off from the White House for Camp David on Friday, the White House was placed on lockdown after someone jumped the fence and ran towards the building.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Friday, the press was evacuated from the White House. It was not immediately clear how the individual got over the fence or how close to the White House he or she got. Neither the president nor his family were at the White House at the time, having boarded Marine One for Camp David shortly beforehand.

The lockdown was ended and press were allowed through security at about 8 p.m., but was still held outside the building. It was not immediately clear whether the fence jumper was in custody.
