(NEW YORK) —  Two U.S. Marshals and an NYPD detective were shot Monday while serving a warrant in New York City, authorities said.

The suspect, who was also shot, was a violent sex offender. He is now dead, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said.

His name has not been released.

The incident happened in the West Village neighborhood of Manhattan.

The law enforcement officers have non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Bellevue Hospital, authorities said.
