(HOUSTON) — At least 30 people were transported for medical treatment after the second floor of a Houston-area apartment collapsed onto the floor below.
According to ABC’s Houston affiliate, KTRK, more than 100 people were expected to be present for a celebration on Thursday. The local fire department was dispatched at about 1 p.m.
Only one of the injured was believed to be in “urgent” need of care. Many of those injured suffered just cuts and bruises.
The local fire department does not believe that anyone is left inside the building.
