(LOS ANGELES) — A judge denied Shelly Sterling’s request Thursday for a temporary restraining order against estranged husband Donald Sterling.
Shelly Sterling’s attorneys claim the 80-year-old has been threatening doctors who found him to be mentally incapacitated.
If it’s proved he is not in a stable mental state, she believes she can sell the Los Angeles Clippers without his consent.
Donald Sterling allegedly threatened his wife’s attorney, Pierce O’Donnell, during a June 9 phone call, and left hostile voice messages that called doctors “horrible” and claimed “I’ll show you what I think of you when I see you in court,” according to ESPN.
A probate court trial is set for early July to determine whether Shelly Sterling can sell the NBA team to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
