(PHOENIX) — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with an attack last Wednesday that left one priest dead and a second injured.
The Phoenix Police Department posted on its Facebook page last week that they were investigating the attack. On June 11, at about 9:11 p.m., a man allegedly attacked one of the victims, Father Joseph Terra, before attacking and fatally shooting Father Kenneth Walker.
Both Terra and Walker was taken to a nearby hospital, where Walker was later pronounced dead.
On Monday night, the PPD announced that they had arrested Gary Michael Moran, 54, and charged him with first-degree murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, theft, theft of means of transportation, misconduct involving weapons and burglary in the attack.
Moran was released from prison in April after having served five years for a burglary in which he stabbed a male homeowner.
