(SAN FRANCISCO) — Ryan Kelly Chamberlain II, the subject of a nationwide manhunt after federal agents found explosives in his San Francisco apartment, was taken into custody on Monday night.

FBI spokesman Peter Lee told ABC News on Monday that Chamberlain had been taken into custody by the San Francisco Police Department and the FBI. A law enforcement source briefed on the case told ABC News that Chamberlain was found “right under the Golden Gate Bridge.”

Chamberlain did not have a phone with him at the time and was driving a friend’s car throughout the day on Monday. He was trailed for much of the day by law enforcement. A source tells ABC News that law enforcement “had been close to him all afternoon,” and that they would learn he was in a particular spot “10 or 15 minutes after he was there.”

Chamberlain is expected to make an appearance in federal court on Tuesday.
