(CHICAGO) — A group of tourists visting Chicago’s Willis Tower got quite the scare while 1,300 feet above the ground Wednesday night.

As the group stepped out to check out the view on the ledge– 103 floors up — the suspended glass floor started to crack.

A spokesman for the Willis Tower said that what cracked was a protective coating on the glass floor, meant to prevent scratches. The structural integrity of what’s known as “The Ledge” was not affected.

“The Ledge” was temporarily closed while the coating was replaced, but reopened Thursday afternoon.
