(BOSTON) — Hundreds of people filled a small firehouse in West Roxbury, Massachusetts Friday night to remember two Boston firefighters who were killed during an apartment fire on Wednesday.

Edward Walsh,43, and Michael Kennedy, 33, died after they were trapped in the fast moving fire

Sean Monahan grew up with Kennedy.

“He was the last person you would think that would happen to, of all those people down there, he was just such a strong individual,” Monahan said. “He was just always there for you… whatever you needed, he was there. And that’s why these people are here.”

A ceremony was also held Friday at City Hall Plaza.
