(AURORA, Colo.) — A new trial date has been set for the man accused in the mass shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, Colo.
On Thursday a judge announced that James Holmes will go on trial on Oct. 14.
Holmes is accused of killing 12 people and wounding 70 at an Aurora movie theater in 2012.
But, the trial start date may be delayed as the defense and prosecutors are still arguing over mental health examinations. Last week a judge ordered a new sanity exam for Holmes after calling the first exam “inadequate and incomplete.”
Holmes admitted to the mass shooting, but his attorneys say he was having a “psychotic episode” at the time.
Prosecutors are arguing for the death penalty.
