(NEW YORK) — A winter storm that caused more than 1,000 flights around America to be cancelled on Monday is moving on to the northeast on Tuesday, with snow continuing to pile up from western Pennsylvania to Connecticut.
On Monday, the winter storm caused near white-out conditions in the midwest in major cities including Chicago and Cleveland, with parts of Illinois receiving one to two inches of snow per hour. On Tuesday morning, a dozen states were under winter weather warnings and advisories.
The east coast has been hit by a series of winter storms in the past few weeks, leaving piles of snow in their wake.
